Using Your Network

Your network can assist you in many ways. You can learn about a particular industry, occupation, or organization. You can tap into the "hidden job market" - job openings that are not very well publicized. Someone from your network may even serve as a reference.

Often the value of your network comes from a contact that knows someone else who can assist you. It can lead to an informational interview.
