The Mock Interview Program provides undergraduates, graduates, and alumni a chance to tweak interviewing skills. Sign up for a practice interview on the phone, over Skype, or in a one-on-one coaching session at The Career Center.
Mock Interviews may be used prior to any form of interview including graduate, professional, health, phone, and job interviews.
Mock Interviews are available during Fall and Spring semesters, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.
All interviews MUST BE SCHEDULED at least 48 hours in advance.
Before requesting an interview, please log-in to The Career Center website by clicking the "log-in!" button at the bottom of the screen.
NOTE: Mock Interviews are not available during the summer session or during finals weeks.

To cancel call (217) 333-0395 no less than 24 hours in advance. Failure to cancel may result in disqualification from the Mock Interview Program for the remainder of the semester.
What to Bring
Flash Drive: If you are coming to The Career Center for a one-on-one interview, your video recorded interview can be saved and taken with you if you provide a storage device with 2GB of memory.
Professional Attitude: Whether you have a phone or one-on-one interview, treat the Mock Interview Program as practice for the real thing (i.e. dress up, prepare, arrive early, etc.).
What to Expect
At the time of your interview you can expect a simulated 30 minute interview by trained and highly engaged interviewers who will challenge you on customized questions based on your background, area of interest, and any other information you provide. The more information you provide, the more customized the questions!
The 30 minute feedback portion will highlight your strengths and provide areas for improvement. You will take home with you: recorded and written feedback, relevant handouts, and a better understanding of how to articulate your thoughts, experiences, and skills.
