Career Fairs: Maximizing Your Experience

Attending a career fair is an important step towards obtaining an internship or full-time employment, and Illinois offers several career fairs.  We know your time is limited, but you do not need a lot of time to get the most out of a career fair. This workshop teaches you what to expect as well as how to create your elevator pitch, navigate employer booths, and follow up with employers after the event.

CPT and Internships for International Students

Learn more about Curricular Practical Training (CPT) which may be authorized under certain circumstances to allow F-1 students temporary off-campus employment.  This work authorization is required for international students who want to complete an off-campus internship in the U.S. The process of getting your CPT approved will be discussed by ISSS advisors. The Career Center will provide resources for your internship search.
