Handshake @ Illinois

Handshake is the primary career services management system used at Illinois. Illinois students search for job and internship opportunities, as well as sign-up for interviews and recruiting events. Handshake is a free service provided by the career services community at Illinois.

Career Fairs and Events

The Career Center hosts annual career fairs and events where you can recruit Illinois talent.

Graduate and Professional School Fair

Over 100 graduate and professional schools from across the United States participate in this annual fair. On average, 700-1,000 Illinois students attend to collect information and materials regarding graduate and professional school opportunities. This event is held annually in the fall semester.

Just in Time Illini Career & Internship Fair

Connect with top-notch talent from across the campus at semester fair. Our fall fair is focused on industries seeking students from liberal arts and humanities, media, education, and applied health sciences. Our spring fair is held in April and provides employers an opportunity to recruit students from all disciplines just before the semester ends.

Educators' Job Fair

University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois University are proud to partner to bring school districts and organizations the Educators’ Job Fair featuring talented teacher candidates and school services personnel from both institutions. The fair is held during the Spring semester (early-March), and the host site rotates between campuses.

The Career Center, in collaboration with career services community, facilitates opportunities that connect students and employers. We have established policies that adhere to legal and ethical standards of the University and our profession.  

We abide by the Principles for Employment Professionals of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) for policies and procedures regarding recruiting, equal employment and experiential activities.  

We have also established specific policies and guidelines that are specific to our campus.
