Traditional BSN

Many students will choose to apply to a traditional track for their BSN. Choosing this option requires students to transfer from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to an accredited nursing program. For an example, please review the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Nursing Program. UIC provides the opportunity to students at UIUC to stay in Urbana-Champaign and earn their BSN.

Accelerated BSN

Students may determine that nursing is the right career for them later in their studies, or after they have earned their degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. An Accelerated BSN allows students to earn a second bachelor’s degree in the field of nursing. Students have the option to complete the program prerequisites during their first degree and be able to apply for a program starting immediately after graduation or after gaining work and additional clinical experience.

Direct-Entry MSN

This is another opportunity for students wishing to pursue nursing after earning their bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since it is a graduate program, admission requirements may vary from traditional or accelerated nursing programs. Graduates of Direct-Entry MSN programs will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam to obtain their nursing licensure.
