Undergraduate Online Resume and Cover Letter Reviews
Fall 2026 Hours
Aug. 24 - Dec. 18, 2026
Submit online via our Undergraduate Online Resume/Cover Letter Reviews Canvas page. Allow 3–5 business days for feedback. During peak periods, reviews may take longer. Reviews are not available during fall, spring, or summer breaks, on campus holidays, or on days when classes are not in session.
The Canvas page is for undergraduate resumes and cover letters only. We also accept undergraduate CVs. Unfortunately, we do not review graduate level documents.
- For help with graduate-level resumes and CVs as well as all LinkedIn profiles, visit Career Drop-In Advising or schedule a career coaching appointment.
- For Personal Statement reviews, see guidelines and submit here.
- Are you a Pre-Health Student? If so, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment with a Pre-Health Career Advisor or visit Pre-Health Drop-in Advising (3 - 4:15 p.m., Wed. and Thurs.).
Submit your resume or cover letter through the Modules tab under the Undergraduate Resume/Cover Letter Submission section.
- Allow 3–5 business days for feedback. Reviews may take longer during peak periods.
- You may submit up to four reviews per semester. Use “Document Submission 1” for your first review, “Document Submission 2” for your second, and so on.
- Submit one document per assignment. If you submit multiple documents, only the first will be reviewed. To submit a revised document, use the next assignment slot.
If you have questions, contact zwalden2@illinois.edu or careercenter@illinois.edu.
What is an Undergraduate Online Resume/Cover Letter Review?
You will submit a draft of your undergraduate resume or cover letter online. An undergraduate Career Services Paraprofessional spends 10-15 minutes reading your resume or cover letter and provides written feedback on changes and improvements that could make your document stronger and help you stand out when you apply to internships, jobs, or graduate schools. You will receive this feedback in approximately 3-5 business days.
Please read submission instructions prior to sending your file to avoid unnecessary delays.
This service is primarily targeted to undergraduates and entry-level positions. If you are a masters or doctoral student, you may be directed to the following services: Career Drop-in Advising, a career coaching appointment, or the Graduate College's Career Development office.
What if I can't wait 3-5 business days?
A business day is Monday - Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., when the University offices are open (excluding holidays). Any assignment submitted after 8:30 A.M. on the same business day will be considered submitted on the next business day.
The service will only be available when class is in session. If class is not in session, it is not considered a business day for this service.
