  • Diverse leadership team and board of directors
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs: e.g., LGBTQ+, Women, BIPOC). These groups foster a sense of community and demonstrate the company's support.
  • DEI internship or leadership development programs
  • Fair policies and practices related to recruitment, advancement, accessibility accommodations, complaint investigations, benefits, etc.
  • Diverse representation on company website, recruitment materials, and social media
  • Philanthropic giving or community outreach

Be sure to utilize multiple sources of information to make sure that you have an accurate understanding of the company’s culture and commitment to DEI. These sources could include:

  • Company websites
  • Rankings, surveys, and/or lists of the top diversity companies
  • News articles focused on the organization (ex: lawsuits, complaints, etc.)
